A swing ride is the simplest idea in the amusement industry taken to its most spectacular form: chairs hang from a rotating roof, speed pushes them outward, the ground drops away. The Flying Swinger adds the movement that changes everything, a tilt of the whole rotating plane that turns each lap into a climb followed by a descent.
How this swing ride takes flight
During operation, the top segment of the column tilts along a vertical axis, positioning the roof's rotational plane at a 14° inclination relative to the horizontal plane. This tilting mechanism generates the undulating flight that sets it apart from a traditional swing carousel. The roof rotates counterclockwise at 17 RPM, while the column rotates clockwise at 6 RPM, resulting in an overall absolute rotation speed of 11 RPM. Riders seated in suspended chairs experience the sensation of flying rather than simply spinning.
The Flying Swinger can accommodate up to 64 seats, suspended by high-quality stainless steel chains. Seats are available in both single and double configurations, each equipped with essential safety features, including a front safety bar and a through-the-leg restraint system. The whole attraction stands within a footprint of 15 metres (49 ft), which keeps a high-capacity swing ride inside the space of a midway pitch.
